Punctuation is the cheapest quality control tool in TTS. A few commas and line breaks often do more for natural rhythm than changing voices again and again.
Punctuation controls rhythm
TTS systems read punctuation as timing hints. A comma can create a short pause, while a period usually creates a stronger break.
Line breaks help long scripts
When a paragraph contains several ideas, split it. Shorter blocks are easier to test and often produce more natural pacing.
Avoid decorative punctuation
Repeated exclamation marks, unusual symbols, and copied formatting can create odd speech behavior. Keep the script clean.
Before you publish
- Use commas for short pauses
- Use periods for complete thoughts
- Break long paragraphs
- Remove decorative symbols

A simple way to try it
Start with one short paragraph from your own project. If the sample sounds clear, keep that version of the script and then record the full MP3. It is much easier to fix one paragraph early than repair a long file at the end.
